DEAR GUEST
As Chairmen of the Scientifi c Advisory Committee of the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ESCEO), we have the great pleasure to welcome you to this 9th European Congress on Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ECCEO9).
It has been a difficult task for the Scientific Advisory Committee to select oral communications among the 600 high quality abstracts submitted to this Congress. Besides plenary sessions with invited lectures and oral selected communications, a lot of time has been dedicated to the poster visit and discussion. We are convinced that this is a unique opportunity to share the knowledge among scientists and health professionals.
Because of the interest of the “Meet-The-Professor” last year in Istanbul, we have decided, this year, to increase the number of sessions (Professors Bilezikian, Bruyère, Cooper, Devogelaer, Felsenberg and Pelletier were kind enough to provide their expertise) that will also contribute to increase the knowledge of the participants.

During this meeting, ESCEO has also been pleased to provide the opportunity to support Awards, with grants from Amgen. These grants aimed specifi cally at encouraging young scientists to carry out high quality research in the field of osteoporosis or osteoarthritis.
The recipients of these grants received their Awards on Thursday March 19, during the first day of the Congress.
The ESCEO-Amgen Fellowship Awards were presented to:
We strongly believe that this meeting, with these high quality plenary lectures, oral communications and poster sessions will contribute to control and hopefully decrease the burden of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
We hope you are enjoying this successful meeting.
